I’ve been a full-time freelance copyeditor and proofreader of textbooks, trade books, and fiction since 1995, after obtaining my degree in graphic art at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and working in the printing industry.
Who are my clients?
My clients are primarily publishers, book packagers, editorial services providers, associations, and university presses.
What topics do I edit?
Frequent nonfiction topics are self-help, education, business, health care, computer tutorials, science, cooking, and memoir, but I’ll tackle almost any subject. I also copyedit a fair amount of fiction in a variety of genres, including novels and series by some best-selling authors; I’m pleased to say that I have a few authors who always ask for me. (See the Warm Fuzzies page for testimonials.)
How do I edit?
I copyedit electronically in Word 2010 and am proficient in using styles, templates, macros, and add-in tools to get your files into the best possible shape. I can also proofread in Acrobat using annotation and markup tools.
